HISTORY

John Barrett, Owner of Barr Homes, began his real estate career in 1972 and started focusing on new construction over fifteen years ago. By working in the housing market and communicating directly with buyers, John became keenly aware of their wants and expectations. Feeling that there was a need for cost effective homes with practical, yet exciting floor plans, he established Barr Homes in 2001.

John’s ability to discern market trends and decipher customer's real needs was essential in designing staple floor plans and has been the key reason for Barr Homes' success!







BARR HOMES STAFF

Building approximately 50 houses per year, Barr Homes has 12 full time staff members. Five key employees are listed below and the remaining staff assists in the finishing details of each home.

Becky - Accounting and buyer selections
Stan – Architectural drafting and permits
Ron - Superintendent
Supervising and scheduling the subcontractors, Oversees staking to drywall in the building process, Over 12 years experience in the construction industry
Don - Superintendent
Supervising and scheduling the subcontractors, Oversees drywall to closing in the building process, Over 10 years experience in the construction industry.
Jeff - Warranty
Performs warranty and schedules any subcontractor warranty, Over 10 years experience in the construction industry.

Barr Homes has the best group of hard working employees and subcontractors building high quality homes for its customers. Due to the stability of Barr Homes, the same core group of subcontractors have been working with Barr Homes for over 5 years. This enables Barr Homes to offer quality and consistency to its home buyers.

STANDARD FEATURES

When deciding on a builder it is important to understand the standard features and allowances included in the base price of the home. Barr Homes has one of the lowest base prices in the area and is still able to offer many standard features that are considered upgrades by other builders. BUILDING PROCESS

One of the most common questions received from prospective buyers is “How long does it take to build a Barr Home?” The answer is roughly 6 months from the date of the purchase agreement. However, Barr Homes builds in many jurisdictions in the area and the turn around time for permits and inspections can vary. Due to this variability, firm closing dates are unable to be set with a buyer until the initial inspections are completed.

WARRANTY

Barr Homes standard warranty program includes a 1 year warranty on all defects, with a 3 month and 11 month follow-up. The Barr Homes warranty program is based on the guidelines established by the National Association of Home Builders. Using the BuilderTrend software buyers can communicate and track any warranty items. This enables buyers to see the status and schedule of any outstanding warranty items on their home.
